I know most of you live nowhere near the gulf coast, so you probably won't appriciate this all that much, but I just feel the need to rant a little.

What is the deal with people? I realize that Katrina and what happened in NO scared the crap out of a lot of people but damn. At work we sold out of water yesterday...15+ pallets of gallon water *poof* gone. Normally level-headed people like my parents are already boarding up their homes. I know I should be concerned, but come on. Am I crazy here? Should I be running around like a chicken with my head cut off? It just seems like a little much to me.

Oh well, if you don't hear from me after the end of the week I'm swimming somewhere.

Welp, I'm now under mandatory evacuation. Mine doesn't kick in until 2am Thursday morning, but I'll probably be leaving before that. Wish me luck y'all.

Luck. Do me a favor and leave a beach ball on your lawn when you go or something... with luck the idiot reporters that are going to be reporting live from the storm will catch a beach ball flying by while they're on camera.

Good luck, man. If you don't post here for a while, we'll just assume you're dead. I call your car.

welp, i'm still alive...barely... 16 hour car ride for a drive that usually takes 4

I'm in San Antonio now staying with friends.

After the storm hits i'll see about posting some before and after pictures.

I left my trash can and some coolers tied to my fence, with any luck one will fly off and deck a reporter =)

Time for me to catch up on some more sleep, staying up 24+ hours and driving 16 of them sucks ass. Have a good one yall

Man, that's intense. I hope everything fares well. I think mother nature is dealing out a mean helping of her wrath...

well, i was back in town as of sunday evening. thanks to the hurricane gods louisiana took one up the poop chute one more time and my area was spared anything except minor damage. i guess the only good thing is that next time one is coming all the morons wont heed the warnings and they will stay here to get blown away.

thanks for the well wishes, i'm glad to be home.

is there anybody floating in your cellar?

- penelope (september 27, 2005 at 6:15 am)

no cellar, the water table here is so low we cant have them.

- mikie (september 27, 2005 at 9:03 pm)

Thank god for that. According to penelope you may consider buying yourself a canoe.

- mr. pc man (september 27, 2005 at 11:25 pm)

wish i could afford a good canoe, there are some good places to go paddling around here

- mikie (september 28, 2005 at 3:46 pm)

Well, I'm not going to pretend to know anything about your financial situation but it seems like more of a priority at this point. Anything you could afford that floats seems to be more of a realistic solution for you. When I was a kid, I remember my home was flooded out and would have prefered something that floated just to keep off the leeches. ;-)

lol, its not that bad. hell there hasnt been close to enough rain this year for it to matter...mebbie next spring before hurricane season it will be important enough to warrant spending the cash. plus there is always the second story...and dont forget air-matress rafting =)

- mikie (september 29, 2005 at 10:16 pm)

Well, it floats, lol. ;-)
