Have been here for a few days,as it is cheap to get to and stay and christmassy in a sort of muddy way.
Not a lot to do except wander the streets drinking in a christmassy sort of way, which is nice.
River Sheldt is big and muddy and we crossed under it and back.

Tried for three days to get into this bar, which was an ICE BAR so Harry thought .
There was a whole wall covered with rubber boots and it was set down low behind dark windows and we could see the people vanishing down.It was obviously cool and good ,but the doors were always LOCKED and we were on the wrong side and not IN.

Finally got in one morning? which was a bit early for me and vodk, but what the hell, but why we needed an ICE Bar when Antwerp was so fucking freezing anyway?
They looked at us in a Dutch sort of way and it smelled funny and when we demanded anything ,even if it was bondage ,and reached for the muddy boots, they said that it was NOT an icebar but guided tours of the Antwerp Sewers and you had to book three weeks in advance,so no.

So maybe will go back next year, three weeks earlier and wander, drinking in the Antwerp Sewers in a christmassy sort of way. They have a website somewhere if anyone is keen.

I think this is the site for it, but it's not in english. appears you need to schedule at least 3 weeks in advance if you want a tour in english. I wonder how you arrange for them to just give you the information in english?
